It’s great to be beginning the New Year with a fresh start and sense of renewal. No doubt, we’re all hoping for a happier & healthier 2022 – a year that brings positivity, new found energy and sees us moving towards a new vision and more creativity for ourselves.

As we reflect on last year and what we want for the future, we begin to see what we need more of in our lives and what we need less of!

How can we rebalance, find clarity of mind, not repeat negative patterns and perhaps free up more space in our lives in order to allow in more joy?

If obstacles stand in our way that block us, how can we remove them? Let’s believe that we can make changes, grow in freedom and confidence and live the fulfilling lives that we want for ourselves.

Do you want to feel strong, empowered, and uplifted with a full sense of wellbeing, more energy and happiness?

Holistic therapies and Reiki offer a great start to help us begin to achieve our goals and intentions for 2022. Tiredness can result from being overworked and when we don’t take the time to replenish our own essence and fun, so it’s very important to rebalance our energy centres.

From my observations during the last two years, so much fear and anxiety has been instilled in us as a result of the pandemic. Gradually and slowly we can begin to emerge and release those anxieties and controls that we’ve been under, and head towards happier and more positive pathways where we alone make the decisions and changes for ourselves and for our futures.

So in the world of Reiki, therapies and yoga we smile, we dance, we hope, we live and open our hearts to new beginnings and listen to the whispers of our soul that pull us in the direction of where we need to be.

Come along and enjoy our happy community and book your holistic treatment for that fresh start… all are welcome.

I am taking on more new clients than ever before since last year and it’s great to see yoga teachers, other holistic practitioners, and physiotherapists coming to me for a rest. We all need this!

If you don’t have a loyalty card please ask me for one and for more details of the 315 treatment.

My Spring Reiki Tasters on 6th March (1.30 – 5.30 pm) will be at The Yoga Life Studio, South Street, Eastbourne, BN21 4UP (30 Minutes – £15) Vouchers for money-off a full treatment will be included in the gift bags.

To reserve your private space, please contact Claire on 07982 119519 or visit www.angelicwaves.co.uk

Happy Healing!

My name is Pam Hardy, and for the past 16 years I have been practising as a home-based Holistic Beauty Therapist. I’ve always been interested in natural health and skincare and made the decision to change my career later in life. It is a change I’ve never regretted – you know, it’s never too late to learn something new!

I soon became aware when working alone, and from home, that I felt very isolated, so I looked for something to bridge that gap. A local support group had just started in Old Town, Eastbourne, called the Federation of Holistic Therapists. I became a member, and after several years took up the opportunity to become a co-ordinator myself.

I organise speakers to attend our monthly meetings. For every meeting attended the members receive a CPD (Continual Professional Development) certificate for 2 points. Therapists need to attend events to keep up to date with their knowledge and learning, and throughout any given year a total of 10 CPD points need to be accumulated.

Last year when lockdown hit, we were unable to hold any events at our local hall, the Friends Meeting House in town. Our meetings all but dried up, and after a deep debate, it was decided to switch to online meetings. I hosted the first meeting, just for a general chat over a cuppa to catch up with members we hadn’t seen for some time. This proved to be a great success. Not just our regular locals, also members from all over the country attended. Due to this success, we have now decided to continue to hold the meetings over Zoom for the time being.

We have some amazing guest speakers:

 • Anna Kent from St Wilfreds Hospice, who runs the volunteer therapist side of things, talked about how they have been coping during lockdown
 • Marek Lorys shared an Introduction to Transcendental Meditation
 • Yvonne Zackim presented ‘How to balance your Chakras with The Balance Procedure’
 • Noel O’Neill from Ayurveda.i.e. will be sharing an Introduction to Ayurveda with us in July
 • Charlotte Phipps, Hypnotherapist, will be talking about how we create anxiety, depression etc. She is offering a free download of her hypnosis relaxation meditation to all attendees
 • Jen Fisher will be talking to us about Children’s First Aid.

Although we are a group, we have always welcomed guests to join us, so if there is anything here you would like to find out more about, then why not join us on Zoom. All the meetings can be found with a direct link to the event at fht.org.uk

WELEDA SKINCARE

When lockdown hit, I recognised that this was a great opportunity to learn something new, try something different. And there it was – Weleda – connecting people with nature!

I decided to join and become a Weleda Skincare Advisor. Very soon my kit arrived, fully equipped with lots of lovely skincare products and an online study course which was included to teach me all about the different plant-based products, skin phases and integrative Anthroposophic (the wisdom of man) medicine. Many of their plants and herbs are grown in their biodynamic gardens, working with nature’s own rhythms. All plants are researched carefully for their individual characteristics.

This journey has been something that I haven’t regretted – I love their products, their ethics and their history. If you would like to find out more about Weleda, I am happy to give either a one-to-one consultation for all your skincare needs or why not book a Spa Event online? This too has been very popular. You can hold your own event with friends and family. Just purchase the Spa Event Kit, arrange a date, and enjoy. Or you could always treat yourself to a facial/aromatherapy massage and discover Weleda at its best.

You can view the Weleda shop window here

REIKI HEALING CIRCLE

I had been practising Reiki for 14 years when I decided it was time to complete my Masters. Very soon afterwards I began teaching Reiki at East Sussex College, evening classes, which I’ve been doing for a couple of years now.

Students often commented as to how flat it felt after their course had ended, and that they wanted something else to link up to. So I decided to run a Reiki Healing Circle, which was going quite well until lockdown. I’d been practising Distance Reiki with one of my Reiki Master students on a weekly basis throughout lockdown, and this had proven a great learning experience, continually surprising us by how connected we can be to each other even across the ether!

So I decided to continue to run the Reiki Healing Circle online. We have held several events to date and the meetings have all been just as good. If you feel that this is something you would like to join, why not drop me an email/text and I will send the connection for you.

If you would like more information on any of the events with the Federation of Holistic Therapists, our Reiki Healing Circle, or Weleda Skincare, please feel free to contact me:

As this New Year gets underway, I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2021!

It’s been lovely to have still been able to connect with each of you in person when we’ve not been in lockdowns, and also through distance (remote) healing while we’re isolating.

Needless to say, distance healing has really taken off during this last year. It’s a great way to keep ‘healing the nation’ until we can meet in person again.

What will a distance healing session involve?

At a mutually arranged time you, the client, will lay down somewhere quiet and undisturbed in your own home. If you wish you can light a candle and play some gentle music of your choice.

I will send Reiki to you via symbols, light, love and positive intentions. It is beautifully uplifting and cleansing and works like a cosmic telephone wire, healing the mind, body and soul in order to improve any physical manifestations or reduce symptoms.

Some have described the experience as “a euphoric dance” or “bathing in sunshine”.

Now it has never been so important a time as to keep physically fit and boost our immune systems, also to keep our minds from reaching a low point, which then opens us up to being more vulnerable to infection.

So let us raise our vibrations and create and prepare a better life, so that we are ready to step out into the sunshine once again – and meet up at the beautiful Yoga Life Studio!

Sending love and light to you all.

What is Reiki?

Reiki restores the balance and harmony of the universal life force energy flowing through and around the body to aid and accelerate the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Reiki can help alleviate pain and help us let go of negative thoughts, replacing them with positivity, peace and serenity. In addition it can promote deep relaxation, releasing stress and tension. People often find that emotional energy can be channelled into creativity.

Reiki flows into a person’s whole energy body, soul and spirit which in turn encourages qualities of love, compassion, understanding and acceptance of self and others. Improvements of good health and wellbeing throughout can be achieved through holistic treatments of Reiki.

When the energy is channelled through the physical chakra and whole body system it will restore perfect balance, harmony, integration and alignment at all levels of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. This means all distortions and imbalances in the energy field will come to the surface to be resolved. Some examples of these distortions and imbalances can be unresolved emotions such as fear, anger, grief patterns, shock trauma injuries, relationship issues, previous illnesses, insecurities, religious programming, unfinished business from the past, old soul attachments, entireties and limiting beliefs.

Suppressing and repressing all of this energy can drain us and leave us drained and tired. As the healing vibration of Reiki enters the energy system, it peels away the layers so these disharmonies and imbalances can come to the surface to be released and cleared, then more life force is freed up to benefit in all other aspects of life.

Aromatherapy

The art of aromatherapy harnesses the potent pure essences of therapeutic oils extracted from aromatic plants, flowers and resins which have a powerful and positive effect on the mind, body & spirit.

In holistic aromatherapy massage the therapeutic powers of essential oils involve a relaxing, restorative massage that combines the sense of smell with the healing value of touch. Stress, pollution, unhealthy diet, isolation, hectic and constantly busy lifestyles can have adverse effects on our physical and emotional body. Therapeutic massage treatment works in triggering the body’s natural healing process by using lymphatic massage with essential oils to stimulate the flow of blood & lymph fluid.

There are many other ways of using essentials oils also to relax in baths, oil burners, scented candles, compresses. Excellent all round oils are lavender, geranium and rosemary. Lavender is particularly good for aiding relaxation and sleep.

Discover the benefits of Reiki and Aromatherapy Massage combined together

In three beautiful settings I offer restoring and energising Reiki healing to all. The sessions are private on a one-to-one basis to allow for total relaxation. During a session clients feel a deep sense of relaxation and inward peace whilst being surrounded by a subtle uplifting energy. Treatment involves me gently placing hands on or near the body in a number of non-intrusive positions to aid healing.*

I believe in treating the person as a whole and reconnecting with the soul in order to improve any physical manifestations. Reiki treatments provide a safe and secure feeling of wellbeing for all ages including children, teenagers, adults, senior citizens and pregnant women.

Reiki treatments can be administered on a therapy bed or sitting in a chair fully clothed. Aromatherapy massage sessions are administered on a therapy bed. Reiki and massage can be used alongside conventional medicine and other complementary therapies.

Frequently becoming popular is a double session of Reiki and massage (30mins each).

During the present circumstances

*Due to the current corona situation I am offering distance healing (£10 for 30 minutes) at a mutually convenient time, with the client laying down in the comfort of their own home. This involves sending Reiki via light, symbols, love, telepathy, positive uplifting energy. I visualise the client in full health & wellbeing. For clients I don’t know just a photograph sent to me is all I need.

I feel extremely grateful for the last week, the universe aligned to bring my family together as we embarked on a trip into the French Alps to experience a Yin yoga retreat with Yoga in Nature

I didn’t know what to expect, to be honest I didn’t research the area or the website in great detail. My sister found the retreat and had already stayed at Chalet Savoie Faire so as I had just finished an intense and emotional 5 year contract I was ready for some time to heal and let go of the stress of the last few months. My intention was to find new energy, space for more creativity in my life and to let go of old patterns.

Arriving at our yoga retreat

We started the four hour journey from Switzerland to the French Alps with my mum and two sisters. It poured with rain, we missed our exit to Annecy, and got lost going up the wrong side of the mountain but when we finally found the chalet the rain had turned to snow and we were welcomed by Nikki & Hugh, our hosts for the week and Natalie and Jim who were running the retreat.

Walking into our chalet was like being wrapped in a warm hug. Over the week we gradually noticed hearts subtly placed around their home. On the beautiful lampshades, the mugs for our herbal teas, plates, glasses, spoons… The bedroom was divine, silk pillow cases, crisp cotton, warm fur throws and views of the mountains.

We met the other guests and after a drink and piece of home made cake it was time for our first Yin Yoga session.

As the week unfolded we experienced morning and evening yin yoga sessions focusing on the different organs, ate vegetarian food, loving prepared by Nikki. All the meals were designed to feed and nourish the organs we were working on. Every yoga session was led by Natalie and accompanied by Jim on gongs and sound bowls. We experienced reiki drumming before floating off to bed, chakra balancing, reiki and an impromptu visit from a local masseuse.

As the snow fell and the clouds lifted, the sight of the snow covered mountains offered healing of a different kind. Snow shoe walking with new friends, breathtaking views, laughter, a picnic in the mountains and a spot of tree hugging are experiences I will never forget.

Healing ceremonies

We listened to Ram Dass with our meals, chanted beautiful mantras together, took part in a cacao ceremony, learned how to make tasty vegetarian food in our cookery lesson with Nikki. We all cried, laughed and let go of whatever it was we needed to release.

It is difficult to put into words what this week has meant to both myself and my family but it was a truly healing experience.

The stunning chalet and recently finished yoga barn were styled like something you might see in a well renowned interiors magazine. Nikki and Hugh’s eye for detail has created a home that makes you feel like part of the family from the minute you arrive. Their huge hearts and Natalie & Jim’s passion, knowledge and energy is a combination that would be hard to beat anywhere else in the world.

As the retreat came to an end, I thought about the symbol of the eagle I had seen in my reiki drumming journey as we watched a beautiful eagle majestically swooping high across the mountain down into the trees. I took this as a sign that although this journey had come to an end, I was ready to embark on my next journey, one of gratitude and letting go of the past to be present and live in the now.

Thank you to Nikki, Hugh, Natalie, Jim, Diane, Rebecca, Charlotte, Claudette, Mel, and Sam for creating the most incredible experience. And as we said, it’s not goodbye but ‘until the next time’.

The post Light Body Healing – more tools for NLP and Reiki Practitioners? appeared first on Wellbeing Magazine.

]]>
I recently posted on Facebook to advertise our Light Body Healing training. One of my brothers asked “Is it like Reiki?” to which I answered “It is in the same ballpark but with very different techniques.” Which I guess begs the questions “What is it? and “Who might be interested.

Our ancestors knew that the cause of illness is generally held in our energy body and the effect comes out in our physical body. They didn’t understand the science behind it but they knew what worked. They developed herbal cures and used primitive surgery to cure the effect and they used energy healing in different forms to remove the energy driving the illness. Medicine people / Shaman used both. Modern medicine started in Greece and focussed on herbs and surgery. With religious persecution energy healing became hidden, changed or forgotten.

There have always been very effective hands on healers. Scientists are catching up. They now understand that the trillions of cells in our body produce a personal electromagnetic field. They know that the gut and the heart have cells similar to brain cells. It won’t be too long before they connect the dots. Our electromagnetic field (aka Light Body or Energy Body) is connected to everything around us. The Physical body and the Light Body work together like a computer and software. The Light Body brings in signals which pass through the message centres in our brain, gut and heart, and the physical body and our mind responds. The state of our physical body, our thinking, our beliefs, our habits etc. impact to store causes of wellness and illness in our energy body.

Scientists have known about entrainment for a while. They have put an unhealthy cell next to a healthy cell and the cells have entrained so that the unhealthy cell reacts and changes to become healthy. This is how our body forms, cells entraining to become organs, ears, noses etc. It is not too far a stretch to imagine that healthy people can entrain the energy body of an unhealthy person and remove heavy energy. Reiki?

Our ancestors had a greater ability to be aware of energy and interpret it. All their senses were much more powerful than modern man. We are using less than 5% of the capabilities of our five main senses and this impacts on our sixth sense. We are surrounded by loud noises, strong smells and tastes, and flashing images. So, of course, we have desensitised ourselves. The good news is that we have all the equipment but it’s a bit dusty.

All the NLP, Reiki and Shamanic training I have undertaken has involved increasing our sensitivity and awareness to enable us to track the cause of illness. The training also involves the development of our intention to remove that cause, by using tools and techniques that carry intention. With the heavy energy or belief or story removed, and with the entrainment with positive intention, the body is able to heal itself.

Reiki works on energy body along with other technologies. I have studied and taught South and North American energy body healing. I think Acupuncture and Homeopathy work on the energy body as well as the physical.

Does this mean we can stop taking the pills and physical treatments? No! Our ancestors worked on the physical body and the energy body. We have four levels of relationship with the world and wellness and illness affects all of them. Healing needs to effect change at all levels or the illness may keep presenting itself.

At the level of the physical we need to treat the effect through our pills and surgery.

At the level of the mind we need to remove unhelpful thoughts, memories, beliefs and stories.

At the mythic level we need to change the negative impact of social / group symbology e.g. the black cloud of the impossibly perfect that our parents, our peers, our society create for us, which continuously rains on our parade, up to a whole lifetime.

At the energetic level we need to remove the heavy energy, just like putting a finger in the spring at the start of its journey can change the whole journey of the river.

To heal we need to work on each level.

It was a surprise to Sue and I when we started our Light Body Healing course in Holland to discover that most of our 100 co-participants were NLP Master Practitioners who wanted to extend their work to the mythic and energetic levels. We all got what we came for.

Our training programme covers the 4 directions.

In the South we shed our unhelpful beliefs like a snake sheds its skin and we learn the core healing technique of the Inca Shaman – the illumination process which works to remove hucha (heavy energy) through the chakras.

In the West we work to release our suffering and we learn two extraction techniques to remove heavy energy that has a form.

In the North we step into our power and source from within. We learn to journey to retrieve soul parts. We release the influence of our teachers. We learn to track a healed future.

In the East we step into our potential. We learn the release spiral and how to use the death rites to assist someone passing peacefully.

There are a lot of new tools and techniques for Reiki and NLP practitioners, as well as other healers and psychotherapists. The training itself is a healing journey because we work together to learn the healing content by undergoing our own healing process over the course of the programme.

In our taster morning we will help you experience your own energy and other people’s energy. We will demonstrate the illumination process and take you on an inner journey. We will answer your questions. We will also gift you the Healers Rites, one of the 9 rites of initiation we received from the Inca lineage.

David and Susan Hill are offering an Introduction to Energy Body taster morning at their home in Matfield, Kent on Saturday 15th February 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 13.00 p.m. The cost is £25

To register go to meetup.com and join the Matfield Meditation and Self Development Meet Up Group for free, and then you can find the introductory course and tell us you are coming. The directions to our home are there.

The Light Body Healing Course starts in April 2020. Further details will be posted in Meet Up.

David Hill has trained with Alberto Villoldo and The Four Winds Society in healing techniques from the Inca lineage and the shaman of South America. He has trained with Tom Brown Jr and Tracker School in philosophy and healing from the Apache lineage.

Our dogs are part of our family. That is why it is important that we take good care of them. This article guides you to the ancient art of Reiki and how it helps you and your furry friends.

Don’t you just feel a certain mystical or cosmic connection with your loveable pets? Especially when we talk about dogs, there are times when our family dogs somehow know what we are actually thinking. Some may argue that they are just naturally emphatic, but what if it is more than that? Many pet owners have shared a lot of ways to take care of their beloved pets—and more and more people are finding Reiki to be just as helpful as any others. In fact, it is recommended by many outstanding advisors from UK.

From the terms in Japanese, which mean life force energy and higher power, Reiki is used for humans and canines alike for self-improvement, spiritual healing, and stress relief. This article will provide you with basic information about Reiki and how it is going to help you and your pet friend in so many ways. We hope that by the end of this article, you will have already decided that this is something you should give a try.

Reiki is for your dog’s mind and body

Your friendly pet will benefit greatly from Reiki—from general wellness, psychological thinking, and physical healing. Our dogs are there in time of our need, and we should be there for them when they need us. Reiki helps them manage their stress, depression, and even anxieties. This way, your dog can get a good night’s sleep. If your pet has been injured or has undergone a recent surgery, Reiki will help him to recover quickly as it helps the body’s innate healing process. So, it does not matter if it is psychological or physical help that your dog needs, Reiki is here to get your dog to wellness.

Touching Or No Touching

Perhaps you are familiar with Reiki on human in which the healer places his or her hand over you but he or she does not really touch you. Reiki on dogs is the same thing, but some considerations should be made. If your dog takes time to tame to strangers, it is best that the healer does not come off as intimidating. He or she can start the healing by just placing his or her hand over your dog’s head, while working through resolving trust and familiarity issues. Whether your dog is touched or not, Reiki will work the same way.

No shame in asking for help

If you think you have done your best but it does not seem to be working, get off the Internet because it is not the only place to learn Reiki. There are over thousands of master healers and professional Reiki experts spread across the country who can help you and your dog. If there is no one nearby, some experts are able to transfer energy from long distances. It is also helpful if you read through books and guides about Reiki. This way, you get to learn more about the craft—the best way to work with your dog, what to do and not do, etc.

Remote Reiki operates in the premise that every single thing is made up of energy and is connected. Remote Reiki is healing from a long distance. Now that we are in the age of modern technology, it is easy to accept that energies can be transferred, sent, and received using mediums like televisions, the Internet, and mobile phones.

How to find the right pet expert

If your dog is able to travel, you can always go to a nearby Reiki clinic. Some pet experts are also pet groomers, breeders, or trainers, so it is best that you do your research or ask around. Anyway, here are some suggestions:

 • Animal lovers who are taking Reiki classes
 • Anyone who knows the basic of Reiki
 • Or choose to learn Reiki yourself

Reiki sessions are bonding time

After you have grown accustomed to some techniques that work, your dog will always look forward to your Reiki sessions. Because it helps him heal spiritually and physically, and it also is a fun time to bond with you. You are both rid off stress and all there will be left is the positive energy that hovers around you both.

Reiki strengthens trust

Since humans and dogs somehow match each other’s emotional and physical states, Reiki strengthens the trust between them. Due to increased time together spent in Reiki sessions, you can bet that the relationship will reach new heights. Your dog will feel a lot closer to you than ever.

Reiki only as a supplement

Despite all the good things that come out of your Reiki sessions, it is still important to keep in mind that Reiki is not meant as a substitute to proven medicine, veterinary care, and scientific surgery. If your dog continues to ache from physical pains, it is best that you rush him to the nearest veterinary hospital for immediate treatment. Reiki is fun and helpful, but it is crucial that you know when to call the doctors for help.

Personalized Care: Ensuring Safety

Apart from conventional care methods and therapies like Reiki, physical measures such as opting for personalized ID tags for pets can also play a crucial part in ensuring their safety. These custom tags can contain essential details like your pet’s name and your contact information, should they ever get lost. It’s a simple yet powerful tool for taking responsible pet ownership to the next level.

In a nutshell,

 • Reiki helps your dog relieve from rheumatism, arthritis, and other physical conditions.
 • It speeds up the process of recovery and healing.
 • It helps your dog reenergize with mental and physical states.
 • Reiki strengthens the bond with your dog and increases level of trust with each other.
 • Reiki works great if your dog has suffered a traumatic experience.

There you have them! These are just some of the basic things that every pet owner should know about Reiki. We have included many great benefits you and your pet can gain from Reiki. Our pet’s health—be it physical, spiritual, or psychological—is of utmost important, that is why we should always be familiar with ways how we can improve their lives. Dogs are man’s best friends—it is time that we treat them like one. They are present when we are happy or sad; we should be there for them too in health and sickness. Have you tried Reiki? Do you have any stories to share us? Feel free to leave a comment down below.

The doors opened at The Human Touch Project for the first time on February 3rd 2014. Our central aim was to deliver complementary therapies to everyone, young or old, from all backgrounds, at an affordable price. In the first year we have achieved this aim and expanded our team from three to nine practitioners, treating over a hundred clients! At the core of the project are a collective of wise, experienced practitioners offering a diverse range of complementary therapies. We work from a shared space in our local community centre, providing treatments in a safe, well known, accessible setting. By using a shared space we are able to keep the costs down and pass the savings on to our customers. We provide this great service because we recognise there is a need for it. We want members of our local community to feel visible and valued. We want them to see they are worth our time and energy and that they can be included in the possibility of receiving complementary therapies.

We promote the use of complementary therapies as a tool for improving the quality of life, a way to decrease physical stress levels, improve circulation, ease eye-strain, headaches, back ache, ease aches and pains throughout the body, aid restful sleep, decrease anxiety and emotional stress, promoting of a sense of calm, tranquillity and serenity, increasing the feeling of wellbeing and bringing about a sense of rejuvenation. There is also a ripple effect from the client’s wellbeing improving, which has a positive effect on the relationships around them, on their work performance and on their positive mental attitude.

Our clients are giving feedback informing us that they feel the service is great value for money and return repeatedly. They enjoy being able to access so many different therapies in one space so can, for example, come in for a reflexology treatment and afterwards can have a pedicure or sit down and have a homeopathic consultation. They like that they can choose to have shorter sessions of 30 minutes, or can book for an hour or more.

The resident practitioners are all qualified and insured and often offer more than one therapy. Currently the physical therapies we are providing are Hand Reflexology, Deep Tissue massage, Holistic massage, Swedish massage, Indian head massage, Facial massage, Craniosa- cral therapy, Zero balancing, Metamorphic technique and Crystal Reiki healing. We have a guest therapist providing Shiatsu treatments, and have beauty treatments on offer so you can have a manicure, pedicure or a deep facial cleansing treatment. We also offer Homeopathic consultations in two forms; the first form is the acute consultation where the homeopath looks specifically at an acute illness, for example the common cold, and prescribes a remedy specifically for that ailment. The second form is the full consultation where an in depth family and personal medical history is taken then a remedy is given on the day, or may be delivered a few days later. Our homeopath is able to make a phone consultation with you if you are unable to attend the project in person. We provide Iridology consultations. Iridology is the analysis of the iris, which is the colourful area of the eye that surrounds the pupil. By analysing the iris, a person’s level of health and specific areas of nutritional deficiency can be identified. This allows appropriate remedies to be recommended.

Our clients have shown that there is a need for us to provide them with in depth information sessions, so all of our practitioners are able to offer time at the weekly clinic for questions regarding their particular practice. We provide animal healing for pets at the weekly clinic (by appointment only).

Gift vouchers can be purchased, so you can gift friends or loved ones at any time of the year. We keep our costs as low as we can. Clients pay for the amount of time spent in the space. We charge the full price for people in employment and the lower price for retired, students and unemployed people. The cost for 15 minutes is £7.50 (£5); 30 minutes: £15 (£10), 45 minutes: £22.50 (£15), one hour: £30 (£20) The low cost weekly clinic is at the heart of the project. We are growing and evolving; developing ways to support the clinic by offering our service to local businesses on site. This allows employees to gain health benefits, be supported in their work space and give back to their community, as 20% of each fee paid is given back to and used to fund the hire of space for the weekly clinic. We attend local wellbeing events, helping to raise money for charities. In the coming year we plan to offer our service to local care providers, taking the service on site to residential homes and day centres. We’re developing a programme of ‘affordable workshops for all’ and aim to start delivering that programme and to begin to provide ‘affordable sessions of Laughter Yoga and Bliss Out Meditation’.

To access any of our therapies you can drop in to the weekly clinic. It is held on most Wednesday’s from 1.30 to 4.30 pm at The Shoreham Centre, Shoreham by Sea, BN43 5WU. You can also book an appointment for any of the therapies, for a homeopathic phone consultation or for an information session by contacting us on 07796 518667 or by leaving a message on the wall of our Facebook page at facebook.com/thehumantouch1 If you are unable to attend the weekly clinic, some of the therapies are provided at other times and locations. For more information regarding this, to buy a gift voucher, to request a visit from the practitioner team to your event, business. school, rest home. day centre, or for information regarding upcoming workshops and classes contact us on 07796 518667 For more in depth information about any of the practitioners or the therapies please visit our website at thehumantouchshoreham.com

Our new Well Being Centre – it all began with a 14ft yurt at Playgroup Music Festival in 2011! A few years later as a proud owner of the same yurt, made beautifully by the Yurtshop in Battle, I was looking for a semi permanent place to locate it during the warmer months of the year, to practice Shiatsu (the holistic Japanese bodywork therapy), Acupressure Massage and Qigong.

Fortuitously at our next Bookclub meeting, an old friend Jon Ross had been invited to join us. Jon owns Glynleigh Organic Farm, near Hilliers Garden Centre at Stone Cross, and he said he may be able to help me out! In exchange for a days work a month on the farm I could put up the yurt from time to time to do treatments. What a wonderful place to work, surrounded by the beauty, fresh air and natural sounds of the countryside. My clients found their treatments more deeply relaxing and restorative than usual.

John and his wife Becky were most interested in the work I was doing and loved the yurt. After many discussions, cups of tea and a whole range of delicious homemade cakes and biscuits, the idea of a Well Being Centre in yurts was born. Our Well Being Centre is an environmentally friendly and holistic health centre for complementary and transformative healing work, in all its many forms, on the edge of Pevensey Marshes.

We open on Monday 23rd March 2015 with weekly classes in the big 24ft yurt, of Yoga, Pilates, Qigong and Meditation and others in the offing. The smaller yurt will have available a range of different therapies such as Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Shiatsu, Massage (Deep Tissue, Acupressure, No Hands) Reiki and Wellbeing coaching. Workshops are planned in Hot Yoga, Mindfulness, Qigong and Meditation as well as monthly Sound healing Gong baths! Both yurts have beautiful wooden floors and wood-burners. There is parking available, washing facilities and ecological compost toilets.

We have an Open weekend on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April with a mixture of free tasters, demonstrations, talks and refreshments. The centre is to be officially opened by Andrew Durling of Eastbourne Green Party and Friends of the Earth. If this feels like something you would like to be part of, please have a look at the website and get in touch with us. We look forward to meeting you and showing you around the place!
