With the increasing awareness around the importance of mental health and well-being, many people have destigmatized talking about any problems or disorders they may be facing.

With this awareness, every individual has a better chance of working on these problems to improve their mental health and well-being. From various professional therapy sessions to self-awareness training, there are numerous ways one can work on improving their overall well-being.

One popular method of treatment that has recently risen to popularity and stands out amongst the rest is hypnotherapy.

With places such as Susannah Saunders Hypnotherapy And Coaching offering bespoke treatments involving hypnotherapy, you can work on various issues from anxiety and insomnia to chronic pain and skin conditions.

However, due to the lack of awareness about how the process works, many people don’t fully understand how they can leverage the treatment for improving their mental health and well-being.

With this in mind, if this problem is something you’re facing as well, we’ve got just the thing for you. We’ve put together a list of the different benefits that hypnotherapy Caulfield and other centres can help an individual with.

So without further ado, let’s take a look!

1.Helps With Anxiety And Stress

Nearly more than half of the population in the world suffer from anxiety and stress making them more common than any other problem in the world. While there are many medications and other ways to tackle them, very few things work as effectively.

Here’s where hypnotherapy comes in.

Hypnotherapy involves getting into a trance-like state while also being hyper-focused. In this state, people are more open to being vulnerable and susceptible to opening up and feeling relaxed. In a state of anxiety or stress, people bottle up their emotions and don’t open up quite as easily.

With hypnotherapy, any negative thought patterns that occur due to stress can be removed. This treatment allows you to change how you deal with such situations and helps you change your way of approaching something stressful.

2.Tackles Insomnia And Other Sleeping Issues

A person struggling with sleepwalking or simply failing at falling asleep easily can also be treated through hypnotherapy.

Since there may be certain triggers that are impacted by any stress you may be feeling, you might not be able to sleep easily or may struggle with sleepwalking. Overcoming this through bespoke treatment helps rid yourself of these triggers to have a sound night of sleep.

With hypnotherapy, you learn techniques and productivity tools that help you handle and understand your behaviour, thoughts, and feelings better, to find ways to change your approach and move away from negative thinking.

Any negative emotions, including anxious thoughts that may plague your mind or stress you out while you attempt to sleep, can thus be taken care of

Moreover, your therapist can work with you to learn self-hypnosis techniques that will help you improve your sleeping patterns to have a restful night.

3.Can Help Overcome Addictions

From substance abuse to smoking, hypnotherapy can help you overcome whatever addictions you may be facing. Since dealing with addictions is no easy task, leaving them may take a long time unless you don’t have the motivation and willpower in you.

Hypnotherapy essentially aims at changing your thought process and feelings to a more positive approach, the tools and techniques used can also help you deal with addictions. Be the best hypnotherapist in London or any other city, you’re guaranteed good results when you work with a professional who can help you deal with the different problems you may be facing.

Moreover, with this approach, any other side effects of the addiction you may be facing can also be dealt with during your bespoke or online hypnotherapy session. The state of hypnosis can lead you to a state of vulnerability in which you can get to the root cause of the problem and whatever obstacles you face in overcoming it.

To Sum Up

Hypnotherapy whilst fairly popular amongst many is still a treatment method that many do not know about. From improving physical ailments and chronic pain to tackling negative emotions for better mental health, it has several advantages that it brings about to change your life for the better. If you’re interested in exploring this treatment method, consider reaching out to a hypnotherapist in such as leading hypnotherapist Manchester.

Finding the right hypnotherapist thus becomes key in helping you overcome whatever problems you may be facing for better well-being. While you’re on the lookout for this, make sure to work with someone with experience to ensure that you entrust yourself to the right person.

Additionally, if this is something you’re still sceptical about, try to keep an open mind and see how the treatment works for yourself. You’ll definitely see positive changes and a difference in the way you feel about yourself.

Do you turn to jelly at the thought of having to make a speech in public? How do you know this is scary? For that matter, how do we know anything is anything?

Our brain clocks up what things mean from learned experience, which gets tucked away in memories to help us in future. It also attaches a feeling to the memory, an ‘e-motion’ to get us to do things. Either to do more of it or to get away from it to safety.

Memories and emotions are very useful then. And they happen unconsciously, and fast. They have to, to keep us safe.

The trouble is that most of our formative experience about what happens when we do things in public happens before our mind is capable of better judgement. When we move from the bosom of our family to a very different public at school. Where we learn that other kids can laugh at us if we fluff reading a book out loud or we can feel humiliated if a teacher makes an example of us.

Early experience primes us unconsciously to avoid or not enjoy doing things in public. We’ll learn to stay safe or seek safety, which can become self-perpetuating.

Our unconscious learnings don’t need to stay fixed though. I use Cognitive Hypnotherapy to help people to uncouple from the meanings they’ve had up to now. The key is working with the unique way your mind works.

To help with public speaking, there are two main ways I help people. Firstly by reframing your past unconscious learning using visualisation techniques and hypnosis suggestions. We then work together to build tools you can use in the moment of presenting, to get any remaining nerves under control and make the most of the opportunity.

One of the first things I will teach all my clients with any sort of confidence issue is simply how to breathe stress away. There are free instructions and an audio download here

Change the memory, change the feelings!

There are some events that may have happened years ago, yet each time we think of them they are as vivid as if they had happened yesterday. This can be a real problem if the memory is a negative one!

Tina had a panic attack while driving to work and hadn’t been able to drive since, because each time she thought about getting into a car she got those horrible panicky feelings again.

For years Robin was badly affected by the memory of himself as a spotty schoolboy being ridiculed by his best friend in front of a couple of girls on his way home in the evening.

Many of us have unhelpful memories that it would be good to defuse so we can move on. Whenever we remember something, we have to recreate it in our minds. Exactly the same parts of the brain that were involved in the original experience are involved in the memory. This is why it seems so real.

Recent brain research has found that making small changes to a memory can make big changes in how we feel about the memory. As soon as you add in some plausible ingredient, the old feelings go.

Tina realised that on the day of the panic attack she had rushed out without eating. She began to imagine what it would have been like if she had stopped off for a snack en route. This changed the memory, and the feelings went.

With the benefit of hindsight Robin imagined disdainfully ignoring his friend and the girls, and walking on by. This felt so much better.

Almost daily, brain research is discovering new ways of dealing with old problems. There is often no need to live with old hurts or debilitating feelings.

You may have read numerous books, followed the instructions diligently, expected the desired outcome, but hit a wall – or worse, the opposite has happened! Thoughts, as we know, give rise to our emotions and therefore our feelings. In order for the Law of Attraction to work we need our feelings to be in direct alignment with whatever it is we are seeking to attract, as if it has already happened.

Unfortunately we are creatures of habit, and that includes our thought processes. It is estimated that up to ninety percent of our thoughts in any one day are the same as the previous days. So we may believe we are thinking positively and expecting our lives are in the process of positive change, even imagining and feeling as if they have already changed; though as soon as we are distracted, our unconscious mind takes over and brings up negative thoughts and images representative of our basic and negative core beliefs, about ourselves and our particular life situation. These core beliefs, often sabotage the best of our intentions, by alerting us to what we don’t have and what we haven’t got.

Also, by focusing our thoughts on our desired outcome; options are often brought into mind. These options are then followed by doubts which can so easily be turned into self-fulfilling prophecies. To be successful in the Law of Attraction, it is essential that we are continuously mindful of our thoughts; that they are intensive and remain dominant throughout our daily life. New and positive neural pathways will then eventually be formed accordingly.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a personal development system, designed to re-model individual feelings and behaviours. It does this in a way that enables us to adjust our destructive patterns of thinking with more constructive and helpful ones. NLP (especially when reinforced by hypnosis) provides us with techniques and strategies to change those core beliefs that do not serve us well. Our internal dialogues need to be structured in such a way that allows for the re-framing of past memories and existing experiences. With practice and perseverance we can habitually act and feel in ways that completely align with our desired outcome. We will then become Masters of the Law of Attraction.

Hypnotherapy is about communicating with the unconscious mind – the larger ninety percent part of the mind that so often controls the decisions we make and the behaviours we display. In other words, the programming we have undergone since childhood (by family, teachers etc), which so often influences the way we react to the world, and in fact the way we actually perceive it in the first place.

The aspects of this programming responsible for disempowering us, sabotaging our desires and intentions has to be dealt with before we can experience significant and lasting change without reverting back to our old ways. Once these changes are made on an unconscious level, then you can go ahead and become that permanent non-smoker that you have long wanted to be, or shed all that unnecessary weight for good. Phobias can be eliminated, self-confidence and esteem built to high levels. You will not only feel worthiness, though have positive expectations for things to turn out well. Hypnotherapy, together with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) can help you re-direct those neural pathways in a positive direction.

I have been working for 15 years helping people to lead healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. If now is the time for you to change unhelpful belief systems, past conditioning and thought patterns, please give me a call to find out how I can help. I work throughout East Sussex and Kent, and can provide home visits if required.
