My Honest Review of the Fresh Creme Ancienne Face Serum
As a 30-something-year-old woman, I was less than thrilled when I started seeing the first signs of aging on my face – smile lines, forehead lines, and the like. I decided it was time to be more proactive about staving off fine lines and wrinkles, so I decided to give the fresh Creme Ancienne Face Serum a try after hearing positive things online. Here’s my honest review of the product.
Trying It Out: Initial Thoughts
This face serum arrived quickly after ordering, which we can all agree is a plus – especially when you’re as excited as me to receive parcels. I opened the box to unveil a lovely bottle that perfectly merged simplicity with luxury. It was larger than I thought it would be, too, which I enjoyed.
I opened the bottle and applied the serum to my face and neck in an upward motion, as directed. I thoroughly enjoyed the silky smooth texture of this face serum and was surprised at how quickly it was absorbed by my skin.
The Two-Week Test: Results
I continued using the fresh Creme Ancienne Face Serum consistently over the next two weeks, morning and night – again, as directed. Here’s what I found:
- Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: I can confidently tell you that my fine lines and wrinkles had reduced over the two weeks, especially around my forehead and smile. This immediately gave me a boost in confidence.
- Lifting and firming around the jaw and neck: Now, here’s what really shocked me – my skin appeared visibly firmer and lifted. This really provided that “wow factor,” considering I’d been less than satisfied with my jaw and neckline the past few years.
- Brighter appearance: Dull skin had been becoming a significant problem for me recently. I really needed a pick-me-up for my face, and I think the fresh Creme Ancienne Face Serum helped with that.
- Hydrated: I suffer from dry skin, and a lot of products just don’t seem to work for me. While I wasn’t initially expecting this face serum to provide hydration, I noticed my skin was less dry after two weeks of use, which was greatly appreciated.

A Closer Look Into the Ingredient List
Like most people who are into skincare, I care about the ingredients in my products. I can tell you that I was immediately impressed by the ingredient list of this product. This face serum includes several key ingredients that are luxurious and effective.
Some of the ingredients that stood out were:
- Meadowfoam seed oil: This powerful seed oil penetrates deep into the skin to provide nourishment, ensuring a smooth and soft look and feel.
- Monks cress extract: This particular extract is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals that work to create unmistakable radiance and an even skin tone.
- White truffle extract: Much to my surprise, the white truffle extract is what’s responsible for reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. It’s a bioactive concentrate that rejuvenates and redefines for a picture-perfect, youthful finish.
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae: I wasn’t sure what this was, so I did a bit of research. This ingredient is extracted from yeast and is responsible for the lifting and firming effect of this facial serum.
How It Compares to Other Brands
Now, I know some other brands on the market sell very similar products. To ensure I could create a trusted review, I decided to give a few other brands a try to see how they compared.
First, I tried the d’Alba White Truffle Double Serum & Cream. This is a good product. I liked the way it felt on my skin, and I noticed my skin was more hydrated by the end of the two weeks. However, I don’t think it absorbed nearly as well as the fresh face serum, and it didn’t do much for reducing fine lines or creating firmness.
Next, I tried the Jelly Ko White Truffle Souffle Serum. The texture of this product is seriously awesome, and I enjoyed using it. I noticed that my face appeared brighter and more hydrated after two weeks, and it worked some on fine lines and wrinkles. Yet, I would say that the fresh serum was my preference out of the two overall.
Is It Worth the Price?
I was a bit taken aback by the price – this product isn’t cheap. However, I reverted to the old saying, “You get what you pay for.”
While this face serum’s price is steep, I think it’s worth it. If you have the money to spend on it, I say do it! The results were immaculate and I don’t see myself using any other face serums in the near future. Plus, a bottle can easily last up to three months if you use it once daily.
If the price is a little more than you can handle, my runner-up pick would be the Jelly Ko White Truffle Souffle Serum. It isn’t quite as potent as the fresh product, but it does pretty well for the price.
How Does It Sit Under Makeup?
Heaviness, bulkiness, and greasiness are three issues I tend to run into with serums underneath my makeup, but it wasn’t an issue with the fresh Creme Ancienne Face Serum. As mentioned earlier, this serum is lightweight and absorbs quickly, which means it is ideal if you wear makeup.
Does It Cause Breakouts?
For me, personally, it did not cause breakouts. However, everyone is different. If you’re prone to breakouts, it might be a good idea to double-check the full list of ingredients to see if there’s anything on there that you may be sensitive to.
